NEWSLETTER

10th January 2008

Greetings

On behalf of the committee I would like to wish you all the very best for the Festive Season. It has been a good year and this is because of your interests and positive support

.

I'm forwarding this as we might just qualify, but I do not have the time to apply. Is there anyone on the committee who would like to do this for us?

Similarly I am going to have to rely on you guys to look after the running of events while we are away (16th January to 26th March).

Also could you please update you memberships of $20 for the current year (2008). Please pay Rob when you see him or post to LYC-Auckland PO. Box 47-534 Ponsonby, Auckland New Zealand

Lastly and not restricted to our LYC is the Aquarius Club restarts again this Sunday (13th), but at a different venue: The Portside Bar in Halsey Street, at the same times (about 6 pm onwards), so come and relax over a drink or two.

Of course there is the trip to Gisborne which Rob and Jeffrey are organising. Contact Rob Giles 09-5233859

Mike has kindly offered to run a BBQ on the 2nd of February.

Chinese New Year starts on the 7th February. Any one interested can meet at the Ponsonby-foodcourt for a meal on the 7th at 7pm.

I would like to get a team of people to help run the tent for the Big Gay Out which is going to be in 10th February. It went really well last year and that is a standard that we now have to live up to, but it only happened because of your wonderful support.

Mike's famous Mystery Trip for all. This is tentatively on the 15th March, but you will need to keep in touch with Mike. This trip has been very successful and enjoyable in the past and you don't have to take my word for this! The food has been fantastic and the company completely fun.

Ron and Nong are celebrating their birthdays on the 29th March with a pot-luck BBQ

A meeting of the Asian members only has been suggested and needs to organised (Jeffrey and Travers). This is to find out how our branch of LYC can do more for and increase our Asian membership. It would be good if this was organised in early January or it will have to wait until April.

Other things to look forward to are BBQs, pot-luck dinners, day trips (Goat Island) etc.

Merry Christmas and have a wonderful New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai
