2. Do I have to be a member ?

No, but membership is not expensive and provides you with the opportunity to be more involved in your Club.  You will also be eligible for discounts at certain businesses (we are still organising this!), and for reciprocal rights at other LYC Clubs around the world.  Imagine, for instance, 10% off your bill at Telephone Club Bangkok!!

3. Is the Long Yang Club Canberra a social club or a contact club ?

It is a social club, where people of like mind gather.  Now if you happen to meet someone and you 'click', that's great!  But we do not want people who are out for a good time and looking for short time partners.  There are other venues for that activity.  We would like to present a non-threatening atmosphere where members can be assured they won't be unduly bothered.

4. What kind a people are go to the events ?

Younger, older, Caucasian, Asian, single, partnered .... everyone is welcome during our events. Different members come to different events:  see the Events page.  Most of these events provide a quiet atmosphere where you can talk to current members to see if this is what you are looking for.
