Well, this is my last edition of Whispering Bamboo, as Yin has offered to take over the duties of Editor. Thanks Yin, and thanks to all those who gave me feedback on the website.

Welcome to the June edition of Whispering Bamboo. Thank you Keith for your ongoing support with the website and newsletter.
I have received the minutes of the London branch's, I can email the link to anyone who is interested, just let me know and I can forward the link. I also received news of "Icon 2006" to be held in August in San Francisco. See http://www.ifwicon2006.com/. for the information. It looks great for those that are going. The big news on the international front is that sadly the Brisbane branch of Long Yang has had to close. Apparently there was a lack of people willing to take on the tasks of running the group, and the people who had been for some time needed a break.
The May event was a great success. 30 members enjoyed a hearty pot luck dinner and Glen Polleys hospitality. I did notice Phil was busy in the kitchen nearly all night too. Thank you Glen and Phil and the 30 members that made the evening a great night.

Welcome to Long from Vietnam, who attended our last function.
June 24th: Cesar's housewarming party/ white elephant sale. RSVP to canberra@longyangclub.org if you wish to attend. We will have a BYO BBQ and you can bring along your unwanted items to sell and make some money for the club. If these items have a gay theme then that is a bonus. Come dressed as your favourite character and compete for the "mystery prize" for the "best dressed" Starts at 12 midday.
July 29th Christmas in July. Barrie has booked the venue we had last year again for us. We will have the usual Christmas themed "best dressed" contest. Would anyone like to volunteer to organise the trivia. Please email me with your RSVP at canberra@longyangclub.org to get the location. Time to be advised, but will probably be around 7.
