April 2006

The President's Soap Box

Greetings to all, tights hugs, cuddles and kisses if you want. The month of
April 2006 seemed to have more public holidays than ever, the weeks were
even shorter if you have taken some days off. I certainly did and took
advantage of the slightly warmer part of northern New South Wales. Warmer -
not! It's colder than I expected and it rained most of the time and that
spoiled my planned visits to the surfing beach of One Mile Beach, Port
Stephens. Others may have just decided to stay at home and tended their
gardens or gone camping in the South Coast, bushwalking or a trip overseas for
some. All in all, it's a rewarding trip, relaxing and exhausting at the
same time.

Guess what, the potluck dinner on 29 April was well attended, hosted by our
new members Nicholas and Rene. What about the distinct Filipino
flavour ................. well, there's probably four Filipino dishes? Not
bad at all. Every dish was equally delicious of course, judging from the
size of my plate and if you did not notice I was having a second topping by
9pm. I guess I have a big appetite. After a feastful evening, how
appropriate to visit CUBE to burn all those calories. I may say the crowd
was sexy, sexual, sweaty and orgasmic. Use your imaginations boys. To those
who cannot make it, I hope to see you all in the next function.

Finally, I hope that all our members continue to extend warm friendship and
acceptance, it is indeed the essence of Long Yang.
Cheers,

Rolly Obungen

Secretary's Corner

Hi Members

Firstly Thank you to everyone who came to the pot luck dinner on Saturday the 29th. The night was a great success, with everyone enjoying the fine fare and great company. In all 27 people attended, I didn’t get to chat with everyone. Once again I was reminded of what a fine group Long Yang is.

Then, a great big thank you to Rene and Nicholas for hosting the event I am sure everyone enjoyed your hospitality.

I haven’t received any news on the international front, but have forwarded most local issues as they arise. Most concerning the recent proposed “Civil Unions” could not wait for the newsletter.

We welcome our new members to the group too.

Looking forward to catching up with you all soon.
