A dozen members attended the August Pot Luck dinner and educational at the AIDS Action Council of the ACT building. We were able to use the Council's Lounge for our dinner. This provided a great homely atmosphere for the dinner and for the talk afterwards.
The Council's new General Manager spent some time with us. He has invited us to hold some of our future get-togethers at the Council's building. We appreciate the offer and will keep in mind for the future.
After dinner, we learnt about Council's community education projects which include talking to school students about STIs. As well, we were told about concerns in Sydney that the incidence of unprotected sex is increasing, particularly among the teenage and young adult groups. We were also given Safe Sex packs which seem to have (and I must admit that this is on the basis of my limited knowledge) something for every occasion. We have some Safe Sex packs for members should they like to have them.
Our thanks to the AIDS Action Council, particularly Andrew Burry, the new General Manager, and Bede Carmody, the community education officer, for their help in ensuring that we had a great evening.

Twenty eight members and their friends came to our July Pot Luck dinner at Cesar and Stuart’s home. Members and their friends had the opportunity to catch up with each other. As entertainment, Cesar and Stuart provided karaoke which they found in the Philippines.
Thank you to Cesar and Stuart for letting the club use their home for the dinner. They provided a great atmosphere which undoubtedly contributed to the evening’s success.

We are waiting for LYC Sydney to let us know how many of its members will be coming to Floridae. Otherwise we will organise something else for our members.
