Our main concern in choosing these 3 hotels was their location. It should therefore ease logistic and coordination. Some of you might have been to Bangkok before and are familiar with its notorious traffic jams.

Delegates are of course free to stay at the hotel of their choice but consideration should be given to time and distance between the various events of iCON2004 when choosing their hotel. Bear also in mind that you might want to stay longer than the iCON2004 event.

Located on Silom Road, in the heart of the financial, entertainment and business district of Bangkok. Within easy access of major roads and expressways, it's a 5 minutes walk to the Bangkok Transit System (BTS) Chong Nonse station. A 25 minutes drive from the airport.

All rooms are well-equipped including laptop size safes, IDD telephone lines, and mini bars. Smoking or non-smoking floors are available. The business center and room service operates on a 24 hours basis. The hotel has 6 restaurants and bars.

Many of the functions of iCON2004 will be held at Sofitel Silom.

Located on Suriwongse Road (parallel to Silom) and 5 minutes walk from the Sofitel, the Tawana has 265 rooms. Also walking distance to the Skytrain (Chong Nonse station) and the gay scene. The rooms are all equipped with the necessary amenities including electronic safes; mini bars and ISD telephone hooking. The outdoor swimming pool is surrounded by a lush garden with a poolside bar.

The hotel has also 3 restaurants, a pub and a coffee shop.

The negotiated price at the Tawana is $US 43 Net per night for single/double occupancy inclusive of ABF.

The Tower Inn is located on Silom Road, opposite the Sofitel and 5 minutes walk from the Tawana Ramada and 2 minutes to the Skytrain station (Chong Nonsi). The 20-floor hotel has 175 elegantly furnished rooms with cable T.V and mini bars and IDD telephone hooking. Also walking distance to the Silom gay scene. Very "gay friendly" since they advertise in the local gay magazines. For the budget conscious person, this is the hotel. A great deal for your money.

The rooftop (20th floor) offers a beer garden and a swimming pool and a connecting fitness center on the 19th floor. The hotel has also a restaurant, a coffee shop and a lobby bar.
