Long Yang Club (LYC) is a network of gay
Asian/non-Asian groups. It aims to provide a friendly
and supportive environment for gay Asians/non-Asians,
chiefly through a program of social events and other
activities.
The first Long Yang Club was founded in London in
1983. And, it was expanded into an international network
by Billy Wong. It has over 37 chapters in the UK and
Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, USA and Canada.
All chapters are members of the umbrella body Long Yang
Club International (LYCI). Membership in one chapter
entitles one to membership in any other chapter.
However, each chapter is managed independently by its
own committee.
The LYCI provides advice to local chapters if
required. In addition, LYCI oversees an annual
international convention called iCON. Its 2004
conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand. Its 2005
conference will be held in Toronto, Canada, in
conjunction with the IFA's International Friendship
Weekend.
Long Yang Club is named after the gay character "Lord
Long Yang" in the Chinese book of legends Dream of Red
Mansions. Click on the
